Lydia Rachaels makeover photo shoot (doncaster)

So me and my mum Lisa Broadhurst went for a lovely mother – daughter makeover photo shoot today with Lydia at the makeup and beauty studio in Doncaster.

Upon arriving we sat down in the studio and Lydia told us a bit about her background and work history to settle us in and tell us a bit about her character. So Lydia used to work doing the makeup for the people who were in commercials and on TV sets. From this she ventured out and started working doing bridal and more personal one to one makeup for people.

As she likes to be a hands on person she decided to take up a course in photography at college and online. Then had the amazing idea to merge the two together. So aswell as being a mobile makeup artist artist for weddings and parties she also decided to offer glam photo shoots.

After learning more about Lydias background she proceeded to do our hair and makeup as we wished it to look. (Prior to meeting Lydia we were asked to fill in an online form provided by Lydia that asked simple questions like what did we expect from the shoot? What type of shoot did we want? Makeup and hair desired?). I had chosen a more dramatic smokey eye with nude lips and volumised straight hair and my mum a smokey eye but more subtle in neutral tones and a coral glossy lip.

After we had been glammed and made over, Lydia was then very helpful in helping us choose the most flattering of our clothes for the camera and the clothes that would compliment each other by colour coordination and not clash against one and other.

Outfits, makeup and hair done the shoot began. Lydia was amazing at telling us how to pose (and very patient as we were giggling away trying to get into position). We did a range of different shots and poses. From kneeling to standing to the use of different props and using our arms and facial expressions in different ways as suggested by Lydia.

Once completed (approx 2/3 hours) we then arranged a day approximately one week later (dependant on how busy the time of year) to go back to the studios to view our prints and choose which we want. So our pictures will be completed by next Friday.

We had an amazing time and it was a pleasure to meet Lydia. We had lots of laughs, got pampered and felt relaxed yet all in a professional manner. I would highly recommend this service as a treat / gift or with a friend for an alternative day out.

Thank you for the experience Lydia and pictures will follow at a later date xoxo
