Colour Freedom – Metallic Glory πŸ‘Έ

So yesterday was my day off work and I decided that as Christmas is in site I’d give my hair a revamp!

The aim was to go from a dark caramel blonde to silver blonde

Cue Metallic Glory by Colour Freedom exclusive to Superdrug stores.

So this was my hair before πŸ‘†πŸ‘†

Being naturally dark it posed a few brassy tones and was a dark blonde colour.

So how did I get on?! Check out my colour transformation from start to finish.

Firstly, I took the Colour Freedom, Cream Bleach in an attempt to lighten my hair more before striving to turn it silver in colour.

The package contains;

  • One brush
  • One tray for mixing
  • One cream developer
  • One lightening cream
  • One cap
  • A pair of gloves
  • One conditioning treatment
  • Instructions

As per the instructions, I took the cream developer and the lightening cream along with the tray and put the other things to one side.

I mixed 50% of the cream developer and 50% of the lightening cream together…

I then put on my gloves and put the mixture on to the middle of my hair, working my way down to the end but avoiding the roots at this stage.

Once I was satisfied I’d done this, I mixed the remaining cream developer and lightening cream in order to apply this to the roots and rest of my hair. (I avoided covering my whole roots as I wanted a darker effect at the top with my hair being naturally dark)

When I was content I had covered all areas I needed to, I had to apply this very flattering cap 😬 and wait for the instructed length of time 20-30 minutes depending on how my hair lightened.

After around 25 minutes I was pleased that my hair was visibly a few shades lighter so went to shower the colour off.

It is advised that once all of the colour is washed away you apply the conditioner provided and leave on your hair for 2-5 minutes before rinsing again.

All rinsed out I proceeded to dry to reveal the lightened base for my silver blonde application.

Time for the silver blonde transformation…

Similar to the above method you take your colourant, remove the lid and squeeze this into you cream developer bottle this time.

As soon as this is done reapply the lid to your cream developer bottle and shake to mix the activants together.

Place on the gloves provided and then unscrew the top (clear plastic part) of the cream developer bottle.

Squeeze a generous amount into the palm of the glove and as before apply to your hair from mid way down spreading out to the ends.

The above step completed, massage the remaining contents into the roots and rest of the hair. This should lather into the hair almost like a conditioner.

Satisfied that all your hair is covered, leave to develop for 25 minutes checking in intervals for colour change.

Again, after the allocated time indicated, rinse and apply the conditioner provided as previously performed with the Cream Bleach.

When you’ve left to condition for 2-5 minutes, rinse the residue from your hair in preparation for drying to reveal the final result.

I intend to maintain my silver blonde hair by applying Brightening shampoo to my hair to help eradicate brassy and dull tones.

  1. I’ve always had doubts about in home hair dying, especially because I don’t trust my skills and I usually do highlights than my entire head but your hair looks amazing!!!! I’m sort of envious you did this at home and didn’t have to fork over hundreds of dollars at a salon!
