#SUNDAYFUNDAY Sprotbrough River Boat – The Wyre Lady

Today we fancied doing something different for Easter ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฃ, somewhere to take the children outdoors.

We came across an Easter themed cruise on The Wyre Lady

We booked online on their website after an advertisement we saw on their Facebook Page.

Two adults and two children, a glass of prossecco for the adults and an Easter egg for the children, 1 and a half hour round trip – ยฃ28!!

Just show your booking reference or name when you hop on board.

We parked at The Boat Inn on Nursery Lane in Sprotbrough, had a quick coffee and registered our license plate for free parking, before boarding the boat.

The Wyre Lady docks just on the riverbank a few yards from the pubs entrance.

We showed our booking and as stated we were greeted with a warm staff welcome and a glass of bucks fizz for us and a choice of Lindt chocolate bunnies or character themed eggs for the children.

The captain gave us a safety speech and told us the location of facilities on board, including toilets and a bar downstairs which is licensed to serve alcohol, hot or cold soft drinks and snacks.

We set sail and was given announcements of all the historical and natural attractions along the way.

We saw many beautiful sites from viaducts and bridges, to more extravagant buildings like Conisbrough Castle.

As well as this we had many photo opportunities for family pictures, as we were allowed to stand at the back of the boat and overlook the river if we didn’t want to stay seated undercover.

The kids enjoyed and observed the stunning scenery passing by us too, it was so peaceful and tranquil to relax in a different kind of way.

There were some truly magical snapshots to be taken. All children on board were smiling and mesmerized and the adults enjoying a quiet break away from home life.

As time elapsed, we sailed passed onlookers waving as the captain tooted his horn, other boats both smaller and larger, signs of locations we had proceeded and even a knife juggler just perched by the river showcasing his talents.

I even caught a glimpse of the bridge of the boat as the captain anchored!

Overall it was an amazing experience and we would definitely board again for future Special Events or even book a party!

It’s a great family feel and definitely an alternative day out with or without children and I would highly recommend ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ

Keep up to date with the sights on Instagram too ๐Ÿ“ธ
